I really enjoy the cold and the snow. The old adage, “there’s no such thing as bad conditions, only bad equipment” rings true for me. Although sometimes, when seeking adventure I feel a bit over-equipped. For a cheeky jaunt up Pen Y Fan I had the new Rab Latok pack full of stuff: spares, survival bags, first aid kit etc. Meanwhile I was passing youths in trainers carrying hand bags. Oh well. Better safe than sorry.
