An excellent Mother’s Day was had with a quick 40 miles around Exmoor on the bike. Very glad I had the slightly chunkier tyres afforded by the gravel bike as some of the roads were pretty tricky with gnarly descents quite a lot of detritus.
Porlock Hill is next level ascending though. I managed it but a couple of rests were required. But it was well worth it – on the top of the moors it was stunning.
I’ve had a really good start to the year by having a chunky bike (Giant Revolt Advanced 2). This has meant I have been able to stick bigger tires on and get out whatever the weather. I normally avoid bad conditions but I’m feeling fit in March already.
