Fitness and exercise should be fun. Staying healthy should be fun. Eating well is fun proper food tastes nice. But all too often we associate good feelings with bad things and vica-versa such as “comfort food” or vegans.
One thing which is well researched is young people’s attitude to sport. Especially girls. Many main stream sports introduced at school don’t appeal to everyone and so they only remember the cold, the dirt, the embarrassing changing rooms so as soon as they get a chance young people give up any sort of exercise.
This school recognise this and want as many kids to enjoy coming to their school as possible. Credit to their Head and the teachers who encourage participation enthusiastically. They are leaving the way and showing that all can get involved and hopefully there will be many fitter and happier adults in the future.
