I had a fantastic few days in the hills with friends and colleagues walking, running, scrambling (occasionally falling off but that was planned). I spent two days working with fellow mountain professionals (Instructors, Leaders and Guides) on movement; walking but also scrambling, climbing and ‘short-roping’ – this is where we (guides) protect clients from falling on relatively easy but fatally consequential terrain. What was nice was seeing principles of movement, normally the preserve of the coaches you see at walls being adopted and used in the hills. I enjoyed contributing to this and learning from it.
Big shout out to Chris Ensoll; very experienced guide and excellent coach.
Great weekend. Here’s some pictures.
DidI mention it was snowy?
