A massively knackered back (cracked disc I think) led to an eight month lay off long distance running and forcedme to address the obvious that I was doing something wrong. To run long distance, I ran long distances. I gotto about 30 miles and my body said – NO.
So this time I’m doing things a bit differently. Started at 5km a couple of months ago and now I’m back to half marathons. But I’m training in the gym. To the extent that I have even employed the services of a personal trainer.
So far its going well. Minor back glitches are woprked through in a couple of days and I am getting noticably stronger.
